A Challenge Issued…

It is National Haiku Day and far-be-it from me to ever pass up an opportunity to open a bottle of wine and play so I say; Challenge Accepted.

It beckons coyly

Taunting me to open it

Glug glug glug… I did

The cork lies just there

The glass is full of ruby

A sparkling garnet

I take a long breath

The bouquet fills me deeply

From nose to my toes

I raise to my lips

It envelopes the pallet

The first kiss deepens

All too soon it seems

The glass empty bottle dry

Oh what a pity
